While staying at the Navarre Beach Camping Resort, take some time to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. The National Naval Aviation Museum is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. It is a fascinating slice of our nation’s aviation history explored via theater, flight simulation and actual aircraft.
Aircraft
Among the aircraft you can see are the NC-4 flying boat, the first plane to fly across the Atlantic, the SBD Dauntless that flew at the Battle of Midway, two Vietnam MiG-killers, an A-7 Corsair II that logged missions over Iraq during Operation Desert Storm and the last F-14 Tomcat to fly a combat mission.
Exhibits
Visitors can look at vintage uniforms and view historic documents displayed in cases and study dioramas that transport visitors to the World War I Western Front, Main Street U.S.A. in World War II 1943 and into the depths of Lake Michigan.
