National Naval Aviation Museum

While staying at the Navarre Beach Camping Resort, take some time to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola. The National Naval Aviation Museum is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. It is a fascinating slice of our nation’s aviation history explored via theater, flight simulation and actual aircraft.


Among the aircraft you can see are the NC-4 flying boat, the first plane to fly across the Atlantic, the SBD Dauntless that flew at the Battle of Midway, two Vietnam MiG-killers, an A-7 Corsair II that logged missions over Iraq during Operation Desert Storm and the last F-14 Tomcat to fly a combat mission.


Visitors can look at vintage uniforms and view historic documents displayed in cases and study dioramas that transport visitors to the World War I Western Front, Main Street U.S.A. in World War II 1943 and into the depths of Lake Michigan.

These exhibits capture the human element of Naval air power. Exciting tales of combat, intriguing scientific discovery, breathtaking technological achievements and triumphs of the human spirit are on full display here!

Among the features showing on the 70-mm film premium laser-illuminated digital projection system boasting full 4K resolution, nearly 9 million pixels on-screen, are Every Dark Cloud Has a Silver Lining- Hurricane, Aircraft Carrier-Guardian of the Seas, D-Day Normandy 1944 and The Magic of Flight.
