If you come down to the Florida Gulf Coast and stay at the Navarre Beach Camping Resort, it is probably a good chance that you really enjoy the ocean. After all, if it was just the warm weather you could find that in Arizona or New Mexico.
Visiting the Gulf shows your appreciation of some of the earth’s most beautiful ocean terrain. So, a great way to expand that love is to learn a little bit more about the ocean. We’ve got just the place for you.
Station: Science!
That appreciation of the ocean will be enhanced when you spend some time at the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station. It’s a newly established marine station at Navarre Beach Park. This is the focal point for education for marine, natural resources and watershed learning in northwest Florida. Much of what the station does is geared towards students and in some cases helping them earn dual-credit towards a marine Biology degree.
Marine Guided Tours
Don’t let that scare you off, there are other ways to appreciate the ocean and its wildlife than earning a degree. They offer a great deal on camps for kids if you’re willing to part with them for a few hours each day of the week.
You can also take advantage of the Navarre Beach Guided Tours. Saturdays between 11am and Noon they give you a 60-minute sneak peek of the facility. You’ll be able to engage in activities using microscopes, touch tanks, and learning about local marine life.
